We went for a walk along the beach on a cloudy day after a school robotics competition.

My favorite part was that the weather was very nice. It was warm enough to walk around without any jacket, yet it was also still foggy. This added an almost surreal feeling when walking. I could feel the fog on my skin, yet I was warm. While walking from the street to the beach there were a few mounds of sand with plants. We rested on those which gave us an elevated view of the city.

There was also a graveyard of sand dollars. So many of them had recently washed up on the shore and still had purple veins running along them. A majority of the sand dollars were still full with no breakage. My friend and I compared our favorites for a while. It was interesting to see the different color variations in relation to how long the sand dollar had been washed up (ones that recently came ashore were dark purple, and ones that had been there for a while were white).

We happened to hit the beach at low tide. We were able to walk way far out onto the sand, and the waves were pretty mellow. There was almost an exact reflection of my friend walking on the beach towards the waves. Again, it looked like some sort of fantasy world (reminded me a little of the water planet from Interstellar).
